Legion of the Unrepentant Heart
Here is inscribed the Record of the deeds and men of the Legion of the Unrepentant Heart... This legion is stationed in the Western Marches, protecting the Empire's outposts there from invasion and rebellion. Bravery among the troops of this unit is commonplace, and many make the ultimate sacrifice to defend the mighty Empire.
The Legion contains the Company of the White Horse, a unit specially trained in calvary tactics. They patrol the roads for bandits, protecting travelers and merchants. The Company of the White Horse also serves as advance guards and scouts for the main legion forces.
As some basic riding skill is a requirement for this legion, many cavalry Auxilia tend to be recruited from the bread-basket of the Empire, where they have perhaps had some oppotunity to gain familiarity with horses in childhood.
