The Milandisian style of heraldic markings are what many consider to be the stereotypical and most highly developed of all the heraldic systems. From simple, to staggeringly complex, Milandisian blazons can be some of the most beautiful on record.
 |
Milandir National Arms
Blazon: Azure, three dolphins reversing naiant in pale or.
Description: On a blue field, three horizontal gold/yellow dolphins arranged vertically in a column alternately facing left and right.
Explanation: The arms of the Royal House of Milandir glorify the 3 Dolphins of Naeraanth, famous val'Ossan figures of history. The first Dolphin is Dolfgar val'Ossan, hero of the first Canceri war and founder of the Milandisian League. The second was Osric I, founder of Milandir and the third was Willem II, widely regarded as the most successful Milandisian monarch ever. Older representations of the Royal arms thusly only have 2 Dolphins present. |
 |
Personal Arms of King Osric IV
Blazon: Azure, a bordure crested bleu-celeste, three dolphins involved, two and one, or.
Description: On a blue field, bordered with sky-blue waves, three gold/yellow dolphins curved in circles, two on top and one beneath.
Explanation: As king of Milandir, Osric's personal arms are a variation of the country's arms.
And special thanks to Joe Aborenno. It was his beautiful artwork that inspired Osric's arms, and his drawing of heraldic fish that is used in this more generic representation. |
 |
val'Holryns of Tralia
Blazon: Argent, a chevron gules three roses, two and one, gules.
Description: On a silver/white field, a red chevron and three red heraldic rose blossoms, two above the chevron, one below.
Explanation: The history of the Arms of Tralia are lost to antiquity, the rose has been the val'Holryn symbol since the days of the First Imperium. As a general rule, flowers are far more common in Tralian heraldry than the other domains. |
 |
val'Ossans of Naeraanth
Blazon: Quarterly 1st and 4th, azure three dolphins reversing naiant in pale or, 2nd and 3rd vert a lymphad proper, oarred and sails furled, flagged of Milandir.
Description: The shield is divided in fourths, the upper left and lower right quarters feature three horizontal gold/yellow dolphins arranged vertically in a column alternately facing left and right on a blue field. In the upper right and lower left is a ship, with sails furled and oars out, colored as a ship would be, with Milandisian flags.
Explanation: The val'Ossans of Naeraanth are the Royal family of Milandir. They therefore use as their blazon the royal arms, quartered with the arms of the city of Naeraanth, the royal capitol. |
 |
val'Tensens of Moratavia
Blazon: Parted per pale azure and or, two lions combatant argent and sable.
Description: The field is divided vertically, the left half blue and the right gold/yellow. On it, two lions rear facing each other, the left white/silver and the right black.
Explanation: The Arms of the val'Tensen of Moratavia reflect the divided house. The lions are set in an adversarial depiction to illustrate the conflict. The dexter lion is silver supported by the blue of the Milandisian royal house, while the sinister lion is sable supported by the gold of Coryan. |

Town of Heliadaquae
Blazon: Or, at sinister chief two shovels in saltire vert, on pile inverted vert at nombril point a fountain natural or, in canton gules four swords fretted argent.
Description: On a gold/yellow field, a pair of green crossed shovels on the upper right, a green triangle pointing upward, with the upper point touching the center top edge of the shield, on which is a gold/yellow fountain, over all a square of red in the upper left corner on which is four silver/white swords with interlaced blades.
Explanation: Heliadaquae's main industries are mining and hot springs tourism, represented by the two crossed shovels, and the fountain. The colors of gold and green represent the amber, and the woodlands and swamps that bracket the town. The recent addition of the red badge with four swords commemorates the Battle of Four Armies that took place at the town. |

Personal Arms of Sir Amerith Tensen val'Sosi
Blazon: Bleu-celeste, a bordure azure, two lions combatant sable, within two lightning bolts or, and mottoed "Vires Ob Veritas".
Description: On a light blue field, with a blue border, two black lions rear facing one another, surrounded by the curves of two bolts of lightning. The motto reads "A Man for Truth".
Explanation: Sir Amerith has not yet given us his explanation for why he has chosen these arms.
Special thanks to Chris LaLiberty (player of Sir Amerith) and Joe Aborenno (the artist) for permission to post this here. |
