There has been a great profusion of yahoogroups and talk lists relating to LA. These lists are great, and the campaign has no objection to their continued use and profusion. (Links to these and other lists are available on the Forums & Contacts page.) *BUT* in order to help folks with questions get answers, the campaign has organized several "Official" lists monitored by the campaign staff. Only these lists will give 'official answers' to campaign related questions. We wish to clarify the intended use of these lists as follows:

If you want to discuss the story of the campaign, including story questions concerning PCI products and general Arcanis discussion, as well as convention announcements and other miscellaneous Arcanis topics, then you should be a member of LA_Talk. Team PCI will continue to read and answer story questions on LA_Talk.

The Development Team will continue to read and participate in campaign discussions on LA_Talk, but will not answer rules questions. We ask that rules discussions take place on LA_Rules_Discussion instead of LA_Talk, but we will not be mean about it, as sometimes there isn't that much difference between a story discussion and a rules discussion.

Discussion of major events in the campaign (both IC and OOC) should take place on LA_Talk. For example, if there is a new piece of official Arcanis fiction, such as "The Storm" and "The Aftermath" from last year, that will always be posted on LA_Talk. Likewise, all of the discussion about Origins and Gen Con events, announcements of new modules, etc. will remain on LA_Talk.

If you want to participate in discussions of the D&D rules and rulings specific to Living Arcanis, including discussions of rules questions about PCI products, then you should be a member of LA_Rules_Discussion. The Development Team will read and participate in rules discussion on LA_Rules_Discussion. We will only answer [RQ] (Rules Question) posts if they are posted on LA_Rules_Discussion.

If you just want to know what the final answers to rules questions are without having to read through all of the discussion and rules arguments, then you should be a member of LA_Rulings. LA_Rulings will also be a good place to search for official rulings on a particular topic since it will not contain any posts other than [OA] posts. Rules answers will only become official for the campaign once they have been posted to LA_Rulings -- not to any other list.

If you want to participate in the review of draft documents for the campaign (such as new versions of the LARC) then you should be a member of LARC-Discussion. Being a member of the LARC-Discussion group gives you the chance to comment on new versions of campaign documents before they become final. The list is only open for posting when there is a new document to discuss, and it is not intended for general rules discussion.

If you are a player or judge with a question about a specific module or certificate and the question or answer requires spoilers, then we ask that you post those questions on the LA_Spoilers list. *All* of our other lists are supposed to be spoiler-free, so it is necessary to have a separate list just to deal with the topics that involve spoilers. Both Team PCI and the campaign staff read LA_Spoilers and we will only answer questions that require scenario spoilers on that list. If an answer from LA_Spoilers turns into a general campaign ruling, we will cross-post it to LA_Rulings.
