Hear ye! Hear ye! The heralds have quickly spread far and wide!!! Here is all the GREAT news from Origins 2004, both in-character and out!
OOC News
- There was no Marketplace at Origins, but Pedro announced that at Gencon, since conversion will be done by then, there will be a MEGA Marketplace! Stat bump items up to a +4 will be available. The gp value cap of Marketplace items will be increased to 16K.
IC News
- Seven brave souls set out to explore the Citadel of Silence. None returned. No word has come of their fate. All we can do is pray to the gods that their souls were not lost, and we may receive some word in the future.
- The Convocation of the Divine
- Emperor Calsestus val'Assante', the Vessel of Illiir, has been confirmed as the Patriarch of the Mother Church. Not since the days of the First Imperium has such a glorious thing been achieved.
- Upon this announcement, the last toast to the previous Patriarch was made and the Emperor fell dead! The cup with which he made his toast had been poisoned! Four of the ArchPrelates then immediately stepped forward to restore his Most Glorious Imperial Holiness to life.
- The Sarishan ArchPrelate of Toranesta has reviewed the Oath made by bearers of the Armillus of the Laurel of Vigilance carefully, and found that contrary to initial belief, this oath IS NULLIFIED by the Emperor's unfortunate and luckily temporary death. All bearers of the Armillus are now no longer bound to him, although the Armillus still functions as a magic item and object of prestige in all other ways it did before.
- Sabinus val'Assante', ArchPrelate of Milandir, vanished suddenly from the crowd at the moment Calsestus fell. No word has been received yet as to the reason of his departure, but it is known that the radiant cup passed through his hands on the way to the Emperor.
- Morushun val'Ishi, ArchPrelate of Valencia, and Nescor val'Inares, the wandering High Priest of Anshar, stood by Katar, ArchPrelate of Solanos Mor and defied the Holy Emperor in his confirmation as Patriarch. They then fled the scene by means of magic. The repercussions of this are as yet unknown.
- Holy Emperor Calsestus val'Assante' announced that he has chosen Verina val'Sheem as First Consort, with Aconia val'Dellenov being so long absent from the court, disappeared to parts unknown. Rumor has it that Aconia val'Dellenov is pregnant.
- Holy Emperor Calsestus announced his betrothal to Queen Alezha, with the wedding to take place in one year.
- Holy Emperor Calsestus announced that Nier was to be welcomed back as an equal in the Mother Church Pantheon. The Orthodox worship of Nier is to be determined by the Erdukeen priests of the Swords of Nier. Furthermore, the Autocrat of Erduk and leader of the Swords of Nier, Quintus Attulus val'Virdan, was named Provincial Governor of the Hinterlands. The provincial capital of the Hinterlands was moved from Censure to Erduk. A Pyrman of Nier will be named by the Erdukeen Nierite Church soon.
- 10,000 Nol Dappan warriors were sworn to the service of the Most Holy Emperor. 10,000 Nierite warriors have also been promised to Altheria, to join the Shining Patrol, reinforcing the numbers still suffering there after last year's invasion by the Ssethregorans.
- Petrus val'Assante was named Champion of the Empire by Holy Emperor Calsestus. (The character has been retired from play, but entered into Arcanis history! Congratulations to Petrus' player, Peter Gannon.)
