from Henry Lopez, PCI President, 6 February 2006

LIVING ARCANIS at The Gathering - Origins 2006 will be our biggest convention in the history of the campaign. We have created a true LIVING ARCANIS track that will allow both our long-time fans and new players to get the full Arcanis experience. The campaign's core story arc enters its fourth year with three brand new Hard Point adventures by Henry Lopez, as "The Year of Betrayal" begins with plot twists that are certain to shock and surprise even the most die-hard Arcaniac. We will also offer a new Soft Point set in the city of Censure to coincide with the release of the Censure City Sourcebook from Paradigm Concepts, as well as several Introductory modules targeted specifically at new Arcanis players. The tradition of unique special events that can only be played at Origins continues as well, with a new Arcanis LARP set in the court of King Osric of Milandir, and a pivotal Battle Interactive that will determine the next stage of the Coryani Civil War. LIVING ARCANIS has hosted the largest RPG events at Origins for two years running, and 2006 will be even bigger and better!

LA-HP4-01 The Banished (PREMIERE)
by Henry Lopez

A long-missing ally reappears in the unlikeliest of places, bearing information that will send a group of adventurers to the very edges of the Known Lands and beyond on a quest to wrest an ancient relic from the clutches of a mysterious group known only as The Banished. NOTE: It is recommended that LA-HP4-01 be played before LA-HP4-02 and LA-HP4-03. Supports APL 7-15 (6th-16th level characters).

LA-HP4-02 For I Spy Naught but Ruin and Woe (PREMIERE)
by Henry Lopez

With the Coryani Civil War ripping the Empire apart, the true victims are the poorer towns and villages who count on the protection of mighty Legions that are no longer there. Faced with an implacable evil, must they now submit to a new master? NOTE: It is recommended that LA-HP4-02 be played after LA-HP4-01 and before LA-HP4-03. Supports APL 7-15 (6th-16th level characters).

LA-HP4-03 The Sacrifice of Generations (PREMIERE)
by Henry Lopez

What begins as a rescue mission for your patron quickly becomes much more crucial as the stars begin to align and Larissa's Web of Fate draws disparate forces together for a bloody confrontation that can only end in final death. NOTE: It is recommended that LA-HP4-03 be played after LA-HP4-01 and after LA-HP4-02. Supports APL 7-15 (6th-16th level characters).

LA-SP4-19 Where the Ghost of Legend Lies (PREMIERE)
by Jack Cooper with Scott Charlton

Censure is rife with ancient myths and tales of great deeds, through which mortals transcend into legend. Though these heroes fade and are delivered unto the rot of Neroth's bosom, the saga of their famous exploits remains an eternal legacy. But some legends are best left to die in silence, lest their legacy turn into a tale of living sorrow. NOTE: This adventure is not a sequel to any other module. Supports APL 1-9 (1st through 10th level characters).

LIVING ARCANIS LARP: A Night in Osric's Court (ORIGINS 2006 SPECIAL EVENT)
by Henry Lopez

It is the anniversary of King Osric's ascension to the throne of Milandir. As custom holds, anyone from commoner to noble may approach the King directly with any grievance or petition he may have. What is supposed to be a time of reconciliation and vindication of Osric's right to lead his country may instead undermine the young King's rule, as events within and without may prove too treacherous for Osric to navigate. A highly roleplaying-intensive LARP for characters of all levels.

LIVING ARCANIS BI: Catechism - The Battle for Solanos Mor (ORIGINS 2006 SPECIAL EVENT)
by M. Sean Molley and Henry Lopez

Although there have been no direct confrontations between the Loyalists and the Rebels since the struggle for Enpebyn some six months ago, both sides would agree that the Coryani Civil War continues unabated. The rogue General Menisis val'Tensen and self-proclaimed Patriarch-In-Exile Morushun val'Ishi continue to assert their independence and have vowed to unseat Holy Emperor Calcestus val'Assante or die trying. Calcestus still commands most of the Legions and holds the vast majority of the Empire's territory, but the number of rebellious provinces is growing and things must soon reach a tipping point. Now word has come that a true artifact of Illiir, Father of the Gods, has been discovered within the Dwarven Enclave of Solanos Mor. The side that possesses this artifact may well gain an unstoppable advantage, especially when it comes to winning the hearts and minds of the Coryani people. A combat-intensive Battle Interactive for characters of all levels (APL 2-17).

LA-INTRO-01: Taboo
by Henry Lopez

A Nawal of the Yhing Hir calls upon a group of travelers to retrieve the body of his dead son from a place where no Horseman may ride. Supports APL 1 and 2 (1st and 2nd level characters only). Intended as an introduction to LIVING ARCANIS for new players; pre-generated characters are available.

LA-INTRO-02: One Night in Coryan
by M. Sean Molley

In a move unprecedented in the history of Coryani politics, Pollux Pulcher val'Assante forsook his Val family name and all his rights and privileges thereto. Instead, he married into the Gracchi family, perhaps the most powerful human family in the Empire. The newly-minted Pollux Pulcher Gracchi now seeks to become the leader of the Plebian Assembly, second in power only to the Coryani Senate and the Emperor himself. Of course, the only way business gets done in the Assembly is through the tireless efforts of a legion of pages, who carry messages, perform errands, and clean up "messes" of all sorts. Your new job as one of Pollux's pages should be quite interesting indeed. Supports APL 1 through 5 (1st through 6th level characters). Intended as an introduction to LIVING ARCANIS for new players; pre-generated characters are available.

LA-SEMINAR: The Invisible Kings Revealed!
by Paradigm Concepts and the LA Campaign Staff

Come discover which groups were chosen as the first members of the LIVING ARCANIS Invisible Kings program, learn about their plans for the first year's worth of adventures and stories, and participate in a general Q&A session about LIVING ARCANIS and the World of Shattered Empires with members of the campaign staff and Paradigm Concepts.

In addition to the LIVING ARCANIS adventures on offer, The Gathering - Origins 2006 will also feature a full LIVING ARCANIS Marketplace and Magic Item Certification Center, including a special High-Level Marketplace featuring rare and powerful items from across the Known Lands. Furthermore, Paradigm Concepts is striving to make Origins 2006 an Arcaniac's dream, with several releases of highly-anticipated new products including the Censure City Sourcebook and much more. Come visit the PCI booth in the Origins Dealer's Room throughout the show for special offers and to meet the team members who bring you the World of Shattered Empires!
